Green Houses
To provide restocking and trees improvement to ensure healthy and productive forest stands.
Four greenhouses are maintained. Each greenhouse is capable of growing 67,000 container seedlings. Seeds are
placed in tinus containers that are filled with Growing media (peatmoss, vermiculite and perlite). Furthermore, irrigated with phosphoric acid to control the PH level and water-soluble fertilizer.
After 90 days the seedlings grow to desired height, caliper, and root mass, they are transferred to lathhouses to acclimate the seedlings to the weather. The greenhouses are also used to grow native and ornamental plants.
Native Plant Garden
In the garden, grass, trees and shrubs are displayed for public education. The public is welcome to a "Self Guided tour" of the garden, to learn what plants/trees can be successfully grown locally.
